What Happens When You Hire a Bankruptcy Attorney?

http://keaveneylegalgroup.com Many people ask the question “what happens
when you hire a bankruptcy attorney?” They want to know how it benefits them…. what
the attorney can do for them… and what their options are. Hi, I’m Jim Keaveney of Keaveney Legal Group.
We’re a New Jersey and Pennsylvania based law firm that focuses on helping clients facing
bankruptcy. Almost every day a client will ask us what will happen once they’ve retained
us to represent them in their case. So, let’s look at the benefits of having an attorney
guide you through your fresh start. Often, people come to the decision to file
bankruptcy when their financial situation has deteriorated past the breaking point.
In many cases, they are facing an emergency, like having a house or car taken away or they’re
being sued. Filing a bankruptcy will stop these actions in their tracks. Once a bankruptcy
is filed the bankruptcy court issues an automatic stay that stops almost all collection action
immediately. Another thing an attorney can help you with
is discharging most or all of your unsecured debt via Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Unsecured debts
include things like credit cards and personal loans that did not require you to offer any
collateral like a car or a house to secure that loan. In many cases, these debts can
be completely wiped out in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. This allows you to get a fresh start. Bankruptcy attorneys may possibly help you
get your mortgage payments down to a more affordable level. This can be accomplished
through either a restructuring of your debts, or in some cases, through a loan modification. Obviously, these are just a couple of examples
of how we might be able you. At Keaveney Legal Group, we help clients find options to improve
their financial affairs. We offer a free no obligation consultation. You can reach me

  1. I do not get it, I had little income and was trying to save my house, went through three different attorney's and something happened where I had little income, the Judge order's me to pay so much of a reduced payment, I comply with that, and then my attorney say's that's not good enough, we haft to drop your case. Something fishy going on here, them dam lie piece of crap attorney's. Hell I lost everything anyway. Why was the attorney saying that was not good enough after the Judge ordered me to pay so much on it a month at a set fee until I could do better, and made it sound so easy in court, is this a game? Then the attorney notifies me that is not a expectable payment amount. Did the attorney have something to loose. Are all they in on this together. I hope the Judge and those three freaking attorney's burn in hell as well with other Judge's and Attorney's that have played this game. Something does not add up here and somebody lied, it does not make sense. Hell I want answers.

  2. I cannot stress how important it is to have a good attorney. I made huge mistakes without having one just because I was misinformed. An attorney like Jim is always there to guide you and keep you on the right track. 🙂

  3. I think that in most situations hiring an attorney is important because we're so busy with work and our own lives that we can take wrong decisions during all the commotion. When you're going through bankruptcy/foreclosure there is SO MUCH stress on your mind that you can make huge blunders. I learned that having a good attorney really makes a big difference.
